DIY LOUNGE - HANDMADE ANKARA BOWS

Am not a big fan of accessories ( hair or jewellery)but I love bows! I love bows on my skirts, dresses, pants and whatever I can get a bow on.!  On today's post am going to be sharing how to make Ankara bows! Can I hear you scream,lol...

            Things you need
- a piece of Ankara
- a smaller piece of Ankara
- an iron
- needle and thread
- an hair clip
- glue
- scissors

                DIRECTIONS:::
STEP 1
Turn your Ankara to the opposite side, fold into two halvesand iron

STEP 2
Sew with your needle and thread on all sides, leaving just enough hole, so you could return it back to its right side.

STEP 3
After sewing, return the material to its's right side, through the hole and use the scissors to pick out the edges. You could also blow in air..

STEP 4
Fold the smaller pieces( let its two edges meet) and iron

STEP 5
With your thumb and index fingers, pinch the bigger materials by the side, creating "the bow shape"

STEP 6
Wrap the small piece round the middle of the bow ( the small piece should be replacing your fingers)

STEP 7
Sew in place and cut out any material left.

STEP 8
Get your hair clip and insert at the back or you could just glue it on the clip..

Then, your hair bow is done! You could substitute the clip for a safety pin and use the bow as a brooch or u could just use it to jazz up a boring skirt or in my case a kitchen apron.
